Yes. This is the time of year to say for Lent. Many other reasons (depending on who I am speaking with) include "trying to lose some weight", " I have a basketball game later or tomorrow morning" (everyone knows I play hoops), "Way over-did it last night", basically making Mike's point.
I exercise a lot, and use to drink a lot. If you get into bodybuilding you can't drink much, it kills your gains. It feels like your starting over every week, plus the inflammation and hangovers inhibit your progress big time. You can be ripped and in shape, but not big if you drink and are a natty. But then you're just a skinny fat chick who goes to orange theory, not a hack squatting Quad-father.
Jim Gaffigan has a bit on people always needing to know why one doesn't drink, which doesn't happen with anything else: https://youtu.be/xwIr2zFCiS8?t=154
I've essentially stopped drinking after finding Athletic's NA beer. Same taste. Better sleep. No feeling bloated or needing tums.
Had cut back on alcohol bc I got more into working out in 2022. Few drinks a month. In March 2024, went into sudden kidney failure after taking creatine. Drinking is no longer an option for me. So pretty simple. Will miss the occasional summer cocktail but or red wine on a winter day, but mostly it’s nice to not worry about anymore.
Unrelated to this but if you want a good grasp of the UFO situation you can read Richard Dolan’s book, UFOs and the Nation Security State. Saw you posting on Twitter about it, it’s a big topic people have no clue about.
Same w/ Porn. Haven't watched porn in almost 4 years and people look at me like I'm crazy if the topic is brought up.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T WATCH PORN. HE'S DEFINITELY LYING!
uh, I love my wife and am attracted to her and prefer not to support demonic influences or human trafficking. But that makes you an outcast.
Drinking is my gateway to explicit vanity behaviors and heartburn, but I'll say "for lent" because it is a lighter, innocuous reason.

I had big harassment from hubbies circle for being not really interested in alcohol.
We had to leave the pack.
My work colleague drank herself to death. Liver.

Cernovich is great as always...i don’t get why a person can be addicted to alcohol...my primary focus has always been to know more human stuff
I recently quit drinking as well. Ironically enough I quit when Cerno tweeted about his HR on his whoop.
Never drank much before quitting but ppl don’t seen to quite understand why I would do such thing.
That said, this hits home w/ me and glad it’s not only me feeling this way
