Chronemics is how we perceive, study, and interpret 'messages' of time, including sleep preferences, and how (and why) people do things differently. Just like the common belief that extroverts make better leaders than introverts (incorrect), there is also the belief that morning people are simply better when it's really a matter of biological time orientation and biorhythms.

Really great post Cerno! I like the take it easy approach, as consistency matters most. No kids here, so I've been considering doing the opposite, doubling-down and taking on a Nick Bare training program. The CNS (central nervous system) affects are real. My muscles are usually ready for my next training session before my CNS is, as a natty. -- 2. Covid really messed with us night owls. Crime in urban areas has made it too hard to go out at night and do functional stuff like run errands or go for walks. Most coffee shops in large cities aren't even open after 6pm. The glory days of going to a cafe and reading a book in the evening is now non-existent or even dangerous. I look to the positive though, how to enforce better habits and use more natural light in life.

Good post. Guys should get their competitive years out of the way when they’re young. Go as hard as you can with sports during that time, embrace the grind and hone your will power. That’ll let you transition into being a father while finding more balance and meaning in your life.

But above all keep learning and improving at all stages of your life, physical performance declines and it’s easier to pursue intellectual things while passing on your early lessons to young kids in the gym. Nothing worse than the father trying to relive their glory years through their kids sports, no love there at all.
